A Mouchot of the future will invent a machine to guide the rays of the sun and make them work, so that we shall no longer seek sun-heat stored in coal in the depths of the earth.

Something Kropotkin said in 'The Conquest of Bread'.

Pro-tech anarchist prophecy. Solar energy happened, so that part came true.

budgecommander wrote

I'm confused. Mouchot had already invented a solar generator.

Mouchot's machine may have guided the rays of the sun and made them work, but it did not cause us to no longer seek sun-heat stored in coal in the depths of the earth. Prophecies are tricky like that lol.

Who decides what genes are good and which are bad though? Such concepts quickly turn into eugenics. In the end, everyone is responsible for their own actions(or inaction), no matter what genetics or upbringing you have. But the society we currently live in with capitalism, bigotry and oppression obviously causes people to act the way we do. All we can do is change things in our own social circles, do activism and create examples of what could be possible without capitalism and authority. People have to decide on their own, if they will reject capitalism and want to advocate for a better world.

I agree with you, sorry if my comment came off as serious! I've just seen some people argue along those lines and thought it was fitting as an "anarchist" prophecy, though I doubt many people who are interested in eugenics are very anarchistic at all. It's an inherently oppressive and bigoted mindset, completely ignoring any agency people have over their own lives and reducing the vast complexity of a mind to a single factor.

I'd say there's the making of a nihilistic prophesy about the propagation of nothing.

Lettuce OP wrote

That kinda makes sense. Though I think I still need some time to process what this means.

It's a roundabout answer, so sorry for that. But looking into the concept of "mu" or nothingness in Taoism or other, similar, concepts for further deep exposition. I think a lot of nihilism is using that concept as a lense with which to view world through a European dialect.

And at the core you'll see a lot of phrases or appeals to the idea that nothingness is, forever will be, and (for the prophetic part) will grow in importance among people.

Lettuce OP wrote

oh no I"m sorry. I like unclear comments that I have to think about a lot. I think a lot of concepts you kinda have to work it out yourselves like a sort of puzzle. Sometimes messages are worse when made easily digestible. I liked your comment and me saying I need to think on it more was a compliment.

Anarchism's here and now politics doesn't lend well to a traditional notion of prophecy. But prefiguration itself might be understood as a kind of prophesy, the way that we bring the future into the present. Maybe that could be the angle for a contortion like you're looking for.

hmm, not exactly anarchist per se but William Blake using his own mythology writes extensive allegory that often critiques authority..

Just use prophetic language PROPHECY OF THE NEXT-TIMES

Ye tho the hierarchy twas thot innate and eternally ascendent Lo it were just a figment crafted by the deciever that dwelt in their hearts' mind And Yea Upon a Dead day in May it was Banished Forever and All that Surviveth still Were verily rewarded with bricks that could Not be laid upon another But only next to Each Other

In the next to times none was above another but only next to them and all bricks become dust in the end

So Saith the Void Woe Be to Those who Cling to Anything At All For The Leaf Whispers And No One will be spared from the fall

And the secret key to bring about the next times lies in the heart of one who knoweth not the way

These words were etched into the back of a plastic frisbee unearthed from the rest stop next to the landfill that we call the city of -redacted- and hydrocarbon dated to negative 300 years, plus or minus 50 years, so it is speculated that it is from at least 250 years in the future, maybe as many as 350 years. It is unclear what year and which day in may this text refers to. But, because it came from the future we know it must be true bebecause while almost all knowledge prior to the etching was found to be in error, the phrase hindsight is 2020 was always objective fact.

I need to find a old teacher to explain this prophecy to me. So this is def a really good one. It's very critipic and confusing with is essential

i think prophecy is anarchist and only you can judge its validity.

mixing diversions in-with reality is effective toward stimulating respect and discretion in a looker.

reality is everywhere when i pay attention.

Lettuce OP wrote

Good idea I like it. Tho prophecies r way cooler if they were written a long time ago. I want something some old dude wrote 100 years ago. That's funny

When in doubt, just find something from Nostradamus. Can always mistranslate something if somehow you don't find one that's applicable.
