I would like to know what are your opinions about libunity? (Compared to leftunity)

I barely can unite with most people on this site...
Idk i just feel like identity is over-used when talking about organizing. I'm down to judge folks by their actions and what we agree to engage in regardless of their politics. So many folks who identify as "anarchist" in spaces around me and then just reinforce/perpetuate misogyny, racism, etc.
Similarly many folks i fundamentally disagree with ideologically can be great accomplices depending on the situation.

Don't think there's much of an opinion to have. What does unity entail? Unite who or what exactly? For what reason?

By 'lib' you mean libertarians (as opposed to liberals)? And if so, you mean unity with the yank 'don't thread on my 2nd amendment/consensual slavery/consent is oppression' type of libertarians?? YUCK!

Are you opposed to people being allowed to own firearms? What about weapons of any sort?
Styx wrote
Nope, you can own whatever you want. My issue is with the people who label themselves as 'libertarians' and then yap about their 'cOnStItUtIOnAl rIgHts.'

Just that I found that some actions happen to be liked by both anarcho-capitalists and anarchists. Like open-source stuff and agorism for instance.
Styx wrote
Well both fascists and anarchists are not fond of the political establishment, but that's hardly enough common ground for uniting.
Personally, I find this whole 'unite' discourse tiring. Maybe the point isn't finding what we have in common, but just letting each other do their own thing.

Okay +1

lib as defined how?
unity towards what end?
SnowCode OP wrote
lib as libertarian
ziq wrote
nah pass
libertarian socialists piss me off
SnowCode OP wrote
What about anarcho capitalists?
ziq wrote
them too
SnowCode OP wrote
Just tried to ask a question on r/Anarcho_capitalism because I really didn't understand those people. According to them I am statist and they don't see any problem to "not providing value to people who don't produce value" (i.e homeless people).
ziq wrote
anarcho-capitalism is a troll, a meme ideology. it doesn't exist in the real world and was only made to troll anarchists

A lot like primitivism then.

Ancaps are the least thoughtful people you can find on the internet. Nothing they say makes any sense whatsoever. After all, they think 'anarcho-capitalism' makes sense.

Anarchist and ancap unity is actually reasonable. It really depends tho. Clearly not all ancaps but plenty are decent enough and pose no or little threat to my ideals.
Tho I work with lots of different people so I don't really gatekeep who I work with much. I dislike the idea of overarching unity. But I will work with ancaps and see many as not really an ideological problem.

I agree, tho I think the ancaps that are ambivalent to hierarchy rather than market socialist can often still be decent.
Like so many if the things anarchists r for such as indigenous sovereignty, anti war, less regulation to make it easier to do anarchist projects i.e. house and medicine, anti the government propping up capitalists. So in most cases the standard libertarian response "cool do your thing and I am extremely opposed to the government trying to stop u"
Sure it's not ideal but I can work with that mindset and get along with that. While I have many philosophical differences many Anarcho capitalists and their ideology pose far substantially less risk than other groups to my goals and are sometimes extremely helpful.

I knew you were a secret rightist lol.
What, pray tell, is this work you're performing with capitalists?
lettuceLeafer wrote
We are like Robin hood, but instead of stealing from the rich we steal from babies and instead of giving it to the poor we enrich ourselves.
grj456 wrote
What do you steal from babies? They don't own any property.
lettuceLeafer wrote
Steal their pacifiers
JoeK wrote
No, no, no. Libertarians are the enemy. Left unity makes sense because we're all leftists, but how can the left unite with the right? That's a ridiculous notion. We're completely against everything they stand for.

You should avoid taking political compass memes seriously (avoid mapping ideologies in a 2d plane altogether lol).
Temporary ideological alliances & friendships can happen but as long as an ideology promotes less individual autonomy than anarchism, it will end with the anarchists being betrayed.
