The goal of anarchism is to destroy authority. If you use authority to do it (by participating in existing political structures), that doesn't help anarchism. You have to operate autonomously from the system in order to destroy it.

But protesting is inherently reformist for the purpose of encouraging politicians to change policy. Protest violent or not is just a slightly more effective form of voting. Protesting for fun is anarchist. Protesting to reform the police is antithetical to my and most raddler's anarchy.

The whole point of BLM and the George Floyd protests was to prevent people from being killed by the police by changing policy. "abolish the police" "defund the police" "social worker cops" are all attempts at working in existing political structures using authority.

I was about to defend you but then I read the statement

The conflicts with the cops were done more out of a survival than choice, .

Which is pretty wrong. If I want to loot a Wallmart (which I don't want to do mr. CIA) the cops don't have to stop me. This assumes people were looting bc it isn't fun. Thats a large part of the appeal for activists who participate in riots. They could have stayed home, not been violent towards the rioters, refuse to enforce the law, retreated from danger and many other options that don't include beating someone up.

Cops chose to put themselves in danger. Thats not self defense its cops purposefully putting themselves in danger bc cops want to beat people up for your own enjoyment.
