Submitted by subrosa in Anarchism

There doesn't seem to be any good EPUB versions out there; I figured I'll do something about it myself. Throw it on z-lib or something. Some time.

Question is, are there any good excuses to have Capitalism and Schizophrenia on T@L? Other than the amount of Nietzsche already on there, and other than Deleuze being a topic? Are there any more 'direct' connections between D&G and anarchism?

Would love to hear some opinions and whatever else you got.

I won't pretend that I grasp any D&G stuff, I m still trying to pass the 3rd page of AntiOedipus. All my concrete knowledge of them came from tertiary sources probably and I measure their contribution to theory as same as Foucault stuff: they all contribute to my understanding and building my Prefiguration.

If there is major contribution to current Anarchist academia or popular Anarchist theory I am not aware of. Maybe /u/Tequila_Wolf or our PhilosophySquad have better understanding and can help to connect some dots

imo D&G are on par with Stirner in the ways they relate to anarchism. Anarchists, but don't really associate/identify with anarchism for specific reasons, wrote a whole bunch of anarchic stuff that is super useful to anarchists. So if Stirner the not-anarchist anarchist is on the library, then D&G can go on no prob. Stirner is just older in terms of our canon.

If you're looking for all the ways that D&G relate to anarchism, you can read Chantelle and Aragorn's intro to Deleuze and Anarchism.
(a book definitely worth putting on the library. I'd started working on making that happen but couldn't follow through at the time. I can probably find the text versions of the pieces that one of them sent me to upload to the library, if you are interested. There are pictures in some of the articles and that was one of the places where I didn't take things further.)

Cool, thanks, very helpful :)

I read the intro and put Deleuze and Anarchism on my want-to-do list. The list's growing, it might take some time before I get to it. But yeah I'm interested, the text versions should be useful.

You use IRC and not element/matrix to get on the library IRC, right?

Just trying to think about the safest ways to get the docs to you. I've got an 8MB zip file with everything.

Yeah, Element gives me some error messages and I never bothered to set it up again. Been a while since I needed to share files outside of Telegram. I can DM you my email, would that work?

YES, but place Nomadology as it's own thing to not make them confused of why it is in there.

Capitalism and Schizophrenia is a two-volume theoretical work by the French authors Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari, respectively a philosopher and a psychoanalyst.

I haven't read any of it, not sure if I can say much about what it is. I got interested via a handful of encounters: An_Old_Big_Tree's posts, the recent T@L upload Establishing an immanent counterhumanism..., a couple episodes on Machinic Unconscious Happy Hour, and various references to desiring-production, rhizome, plane of immanence.

btw in case you're not always in the IRC, there's another better known anarchist doing work on Deleuze - Andrew Culp. Two of his texts are on the library already, but he has a good short book called Dark Deleuze that would be worth adding if you're making moves on Deleuzian stuff. It's a good book, it's part of his project of making sure Deleuze's stuff isn't coopted and keeps its teeth, along with the project Quiver, that get posted about here sometimes and you might be quite interested in.

Dark Deleuze was just added, so you can ignore that other comment :)

That's a cool initiative! While there might not be direct ties between Deleuze and Guattari's "Capitalism and Schizophrenia" and anarchism, their ideas on anti-authoritarianism and challenging established norms can resonate with anarchist principles. Plus, diversity in literature is always a good thing. But if you feel any signs of schizophrenia yourself, contact mental health help near me. I hope that helps!

Informed by lots of experience with people pushing to get their particular favorite non-anarchists (Michel Foucault, Silvia Federici, Hal Draper, etc...) published, I didn't wanna contribute to that. Instead I accepted that Deleuze's work can be found elsewhere. The list of non-anarchists on the library is already way too long.
