Fair point. I like Mexies take on it (not necessarily her original idea). If you cant afford to avoid it that week then you eat it to survive. I wont argue against people for that if that were the case.

Personally I'm "vegan" because its easy to make a choice. I'm privileged enough to choose and I'm aware of it.

If I were to end up on the streets (or like Snufkin) I would fish and eat meat if necessary, but I wont do it recreationally or for pleasure.

Whether it's "privileged" or not depends a lot on where you are. The vast majority of the global south subsist, by necessity, on a largely vegetarian diet already. Meat consumption in China, for example, only 'took off' after the revolution, when a new aspiring bourgeois class consumed it as a status symbol. It's really only in certain artificially-created food deserts in a small number of areas in the United States where it's arguably more difficult to get by without animal products. Meat has almost always been the preserve of the wealthy.

I know. I meant me personally. I should've made it clear as well as distinguished both

I can easily switch diets, meanwhile someone who lives in a rural area might have fewer options and the easiest choice is to not change diet. Thats all
