The contemporary United States anarchist subculture is a loyal expression of some of the most repellant aspects of US society; It is a loyal expression of a tendency to infantilism in U.S. culture. It appeals to children who haven't become adults yet, to children who are hell-bent on never becoming adults, and to pathologically self-involved feebs and dweebs, most of whom would have be to carried by everybody else in an actual anarchist or communist society. I was in and around the US anarchist subculture for more than a third of a century. US of A-style anarchism is a grease trap of incapacity and terminal disengagement, it is a completely counter-subversive phenomenon, a wholly owned subsidiary of the all-entertainment, all-of-the-time ethos of mainstream US consumer capitalism. I had many, many encounters with Aragorn exclamation point; Aragorn exclamation point epitomized everything that stinks about this subculture; he was a High Pontiff of an irredeemably adolescent narcissist and politically worthless U.S. anarchist feeb-scene. Everything was all about play dates for subculture turds with this guy. People who help this algal bloom of a scene to spread in its full effulgence are a blight on the social landscape. I've never encountered a credible or even minimally persuasive argument against anarchism from capitalist society and its apologists; the United States anarchism subculture is a long-running one. I'm not exactly happy that Aragorn exclamation point died -- what kind of nominal adult goes through life named after the mighty warrior hero in a Tolkien novel! This stuff is beyond lampooning in caustic fiction! -- but his demise certainly doesn't harm the prospects for a real world opposition to capitalism among those of us who must sell our labor power for wages and have nothing to lose but our pains in the fast-declining, ever more promising in real world proletarian subversive terms, main problem country of the world.

someone whose parents named him after the character from the novel?

Yeah, being unable to rebel against dumb hippie parents who gave him a 'Boy Named Sue' handle like this doesn't bode well for his pretensions to rebellion-hood...

I believe Aaron was one of his housemates who Black accidentally doxed after his and Aragorn's falling out. Most people who knew him in person seem to agree that Aragorn really was his name. 'Aragon' is the name of several US towns and a river in Spain, as well as, of course, with a variant spelling, a character from a famous trilogy of books, so I don't see why it's so unbelievable that his parents really called him that. I doubt he's the only one in the US.

TL;DR: Aragorn! discouraged The People from struggling for the Global Dictatorship of the Proletariat. The Revolution would definitely have happened by now if it wasn't for people like him!

TL;DR: I'd be the manager of a workers council by now if only these silly anarkids would toe the party line!

The Trotskyist in the above comment has posted that same wall of text half a dozen times on the anews comments. Each time it gets deleted they come back with an extra embellishment. If we're talking about honesty, it's funny that the comrade never mentioned knowing A! in person until the fourth or fifth revision, isn't it? It's also funny that someone who met him IRL didn't know that Aragorn was his real name, even though that's something he joked about every time he introduced himself. You're really clutching at straws here, cloudsbot.

You're a typical politically politically illiterate anarcho-subculture--moron, auntiem. Please don't let not knowing what the fuck you're talking about keep you from sharing your ill-informed opinion.

Is it Castroism you're into now? Maoism with American tendencies? Hard to keep up with which sect of Leninist doctrine you're adhering to these days Comrade Ke.

P.S. /u/Splinglebot are you going to report this person for ableism? Didn't think so.

It's not Trotskyism, dear understandably politically illiterate slob.

And if you weren't a typical anarchist subculture dolt, you'd see that the main point of this short piece is not so much Aragorn Exclamation Point as it is your wholly puerile and bogus subculture.

It's also a testament to the ceaseless cowardice and deceitfulness of your puerile subadult subculture that you only allow fawning tributes to Beloved Leader, and nothing caustic or critical, like what could be expected of any real world oppositional phenomenon with guts and nerve.

The revolution is not a dinner party, comrades! Brave revolutionaries like K here are ready to unleash a red wave of terror in the name of the proletariat! Today we troll anonymous internet forums (with 'guts and nerve'), tomorrow we kill!
