torrentfreak is a classic blog, more about news than philosophy though. I think searching around for stuff related to open scholarship access would probably have some good leads.

I personally think that piracy has died down a lot because of streaming. Paying $10/month for spotify to get access to a ridiculous amount of music is literally more convenient than piracy. Same with something like netflix, though the selection there is more limited.

https://www.defectivebydesign.org/ is a free software foundation campaign against DRM, so that might give you more talking points.

I think music and other art is a difficult thing when it comes to piracy. The "pay what you can" model I think is probably the best. With the advent of the internet and sites like bandcamp and patreon it is much easier to become a self-published artist rather than relying on a label.

So to sum up I think that for most people streaming fills the need for blockbuster/huge hit type stuff, and the independent artists have already moved towards distribution methods that are more equitable for both the artist and the audience, like the patron system, pay what you can or having very low base price for their albums ($1)
