My nihilism came from personal experience of oppression and reading philosophy. Most gen x ers probably did not even hear that ridiculous end of history speech, let alone base their lives on it. A bunch of guys took fight club as a guide rather than a cautionary tale. Generational reductionism is not really useful. It's a fun diversion but, mostly unhelpful. What generation do I relate to the most? None. They all got their brains washed and some people from all age groups have done some unwashing. Mostly not though, so ... what evs.
