The pressure to 'get laid' before you're 20. I can remember the pressure to do a one-night stand or I'd be alone forever the moment I turned 25.

rape culture in media

This last point encompass something that affects a lot the male behavior: porn. And it's not a rant to abolish pornography or prostitution, but how misogyny and patriarchy are the only aspect presente in this. The profusion and availability t Of porn to kids it's teaching rape simple as that. The current porn production is encapsulate all the aspects of patriarchy with some cruel misogynistic points and many young males have this as their only source of sexual education or even emotional education. It's sad, but it's what society is at this point.

There is a lot of pornography presenting healthy and positive dynamics. And there is a lot of accessible stuff that promotes optive emotional health and anti mysogyny. Though when I was a young boy by the time of puberty I already had no real care or interest in women having agency. And honestly that's how most the kids are school were too.

So I think positive media is available to most children pretty young through the internet. It's more a question why are they choosing mysogynisric material over women having agency at 6 or 7 (ovi not watching porn but kinda are making choices about the media they wanna watch at that age)

rape culture in media.

i remember that when i was 12 years old or something i searched on youtube "how to have a girlfriend" or "how to treat a girlfriend" just because i was curious and bored, and the first video was a guy literally saying that you don't have to ask for consent on anything because girls like that, and when i was around 14 years old i saw the same thing on instagram. luckily i didn't agree with that stuff as a kid but i imagine the rest of the kids or teenagers that saw similar videos probably turned into rapists or domestic abusers

That's not what I meant, I meant I had societal pressure to have sex at all.

I definitely do not thing getting laid is the same as raping anymore and my 'last resort' was going to be paying a prostitute for the record.

As another correction, it wasn't so much 'being alone forever' as it was being judged by others for being a virgin.

Please, maybe I deserve blame for thinking like that but I was never so heartless to think of doing it, I was in a mind paradigm of No Sex = Neckbeard = Lower then trash. Now I think Rapists are much worse then Neckbeards.

I didn't even want to have sex until others pressured me. I was fine just masturbating.

No, I didn't try rape anyone, I just tried pickup lines and failed.

Until I was shamed I was fine masturbating until they told me it was pathetic.

Not sure why people are downvoting you. Rape is one of patriarchy's biggest safguards. If it's safe not to be a cis man, then there goes the "eat or be eaten" mentality and the requirement that you find safety in power over others, and patriarchy is obsolete. Pressure to "be a man" and have sex is definitely part of that

I don't really agree with you, when I made the post I basically just unthinkingly listened to the Incel posts online who make a disproportionately large amount of noise but most perpetuate rape the least.
