This article goes more indept, it wants to be like the NES classic for customizable. Judging by the size, I don't think it will be more powerful than a raspberry pi and with an ARM arch, I doubt it will have much support for additional games like seem to imply in both articles.

It's not a steambox, but I think it will come with multiple game store apps. But yeah, it'll only be able to play games that work with low specs. Kinda useless.

So it's more like a $300 retro pi? That's as much as a Nintendo Switch. At least the NES mini was cheap. Did the Atari Execs saw how much people were paying for NES minis on Ebay and thought "Yeah, we can charge that"? Because I would believe it.
