Ban gnu_ponut and 365degrees for sabotaging the chat wiki for the umpteenth time to point to their own chat room that poses as raddle's official room

This page was created by a volunteer to fix some broken links. We were waiting for the admins to move it over to w/chat when it was hijacked by the 2 most persistent trolls I've ever come across.

This is the like the 10th time they've done this. The chat wiki had to be locked so only admins could edit it because of their antics last time:

GNU_PONUT is an empty account because this shitheel purged all their posts a while back and switched to using the anonymous accounts (to troll me, mainly).

/u/365degrees has been attacking raddle on reddit whenever anyone mentions us (and starting threads to warn people from coming here), trolling me here non stop for months, and hijacked our meta matrix channel, filled it with spam and forced us to abandon it. Their ban is long overdue.

The text says #raddle.me:matrix.org

But the chucklehead twins changed the links to point to #raddle:matrix.org, which used to be our address before they hijacked it and a dozen other raddle related addresses to all point to their anti-raddle troll channel that they created together with ShiningWing.

When an admin gets around to updating w/chat, please use the version of w/chat2 from before these trolls sabotaged it. No telling what other links they've altered:

This is a straight up malicious act and only the latest in a long line of attacks on the site by these 3 trolls.

ok, I'm banning them because of the doxxing, harrassment, smear capaigning, and threats of technical attack against the site. I didn't ban them for making changes to w/chat2 because the revision history is easy to access.

ziq is not just an ordinary member, they are the host. If you were truly an ally to Anarchism, you could find better targets (read: fash) online than some Anarchist that you don't agree with. I think of ziq as being like the owner of an Anarchist bookstore. They are forced to put their neck on the line to legally hold space for Anarchism in a system owned by capitalists. They are the ones that have to pay the rent to evil landlords. The community isn't defined or controlled by u/ziq, but I think blatant attacks against them certainly should be taken very seriously. u/ziq has made mistakes in the past, and owned up to it, but the attacks never stopped.

I hesitated to make this action because I have butted heads with u/365degrees in the past, and didn't want this to be personal in any way. I wanted to believe that we could find a way to get along if we actually had some solidarity for our comrades.

After reviewing the evidence and support for the banning, I can see they are clearly intent on being a malicious force against u/ziq and the community here. I'm sad that this is what it has come down to.

I didn't realize they were adding a pony room, I just assumed they were up to no good since they're one of the 3 founders of the other raddle room and updated the wiki minutes after the other kid.

The chat wiki is locked because of them. But to make changes we need to make an unlocked chat2 page and wait for an admin to move it to the locked wiki. They hijacked it while we were waiting, their goal was to fool the admins.

Someone edited the wiki to add both rooms... So /u/365degrees came in and again edited it to remove the official room, and make their room the only room, and added the note: "The Raddle room people actually use."

They did this same thing last time we went through all this, after I agreed to let them link to their room under the main room, they continued to remove the official room from the wiki, forcing me to ask it be locked.

Any attack on me is an attack on raddle. It sounds silly but it's the truth. I have no choice but to drain my energy defending myself from their trolling. Their claims about me are used (by them) to try and kill the whole site.

Just by repeating their bullshit over and over it becomes part of the public record whether it's true or not. Like how they've convinced everyone I used to use my alts to abuse them, which is total bullshit.

And they have all their energy because they're teenagers that spend their entire day in chat rooms attacking anyone outside their support group. This is all they have to do. Online they get to be like the popular kids at their schools.

It should also be noted that the majority of users just called for raddle's age requirement to be raised to 18. 365degrees admits to being under that age.

I don't know that we should make it official policy to restrict the site to 18+, but the exception is cases where the user has repeatedly shown themselves to be immature and disruptive.

The point of an age requirement is simply to protect you legally as the domain name holder. Outside of that there are plenty of 16 and 17 year Olds that either have or will find this place to be their only real refuge from the rest of society. I'm not going to shut them out for an easy solution.

Edit: Why don't we just go ahead and up the age limit to 18? Probably needs a new thread for folks to chime in, but perhaps getting everyone on the same maturity level might alleviate some of the nonsense. Just a thought.

Emma pointed out to me the other day that the age where people are considered legally responsible for their own actions in most of the world (criminal responsibility) is 16.

If you made the proposal and I voted for 18, I think I'd be doing it purely because of my poor experience with these particular kids, which isn't a very good reason to make changes to the ToS... So I think I'd personally have to abstain from voting because of my bias.

I'm not so worried about the legally responsible bit tbh (though I see how you would be, and I don't blame you), most people here are probably on one government list or another for whatever country they reside in. My desire to raise the age limit is purely based on quality of interactions. People mature significantly between those seemingly two short years.

Since there's no way to really enforce something like that online, I guess it doesn't matter much. Just kind of sick of seeing so much petty shit going on.

Honestly I was just as immature at 16 as I was at 18. And I'm probably about 6 years less mature now than most 35 year olds lol. Why else would I care so much what people on a website say about me.

I know better than anyone how difficult it is to deal with spited teenagers, but at the same time I'd rather these young ppl learn about politics from us than reddit creeps.

And degrees used to do a lot for the site before they found out I was Defasher and had been slandering transhumanism / supporting anticiv (as ziq I only made postciv arguments, which are much more pallatable to them).

To be fair, the highest voted "support" was from an account that hadn't posted for 7 months.

Not saying this to dismiss the problem of users attempting to doxx and harass you, which is serious, just that "not posting for 3 months" isn't a reason to dismiss anyone's contribution to a thread.

Yeah. She doesn't post much but she's done a lot for the site behind the scenes. She's a mod on reddit and has always stuck her neck out for the site. I did tell her about this thread.

She's also seen their slandering of the site first hand because she's a mod and has to deal with their trolling on reddit. Their endless attacks on the site got our link removed from r/@'s sidebar, which has directly caused us to stop getting new anarchist users, and led to much more work from the existing users being needed to keep the site alive without the constant infusion of new blood that link used to provide us.
