"I’m not a great fan of shouting down people or being rude to people," Bernie Sanders said. "People have a right to be angry when Congress gives tax breaks to billionaires and then wants to cut nutrition programs for low income pregnant women."

But he said that anger needs to be taken out in a "constructive way" and that people should not be kicked out of restaurants over political differences.

"I'm not as angry as you are about the tax breaks and cutting of nutrition programs, so this kind of behavior doesn't make sense to me. There shouldn't be any consequence for the oppressor unless we can win at their game. If we lose, tough marbles; it's not like I'm the one who loses."

I'm always shocked people are shocked when liberals be liberals. You don't get to be a career politician by being a radical.

I know that intellectually. I can see that clearly with someone I haven't ever bought into, like a Kamala Harris or Larry Krasner. But Bernie was such a big part of my turn to radicalism that I still have some emotional attachment to him. I like him personally, so it disappointments me when he does stuff like this.

Also, as someone who has followed him for a decade before he ran for President, I think he has become more and more of a liberal, especially over the last 2 years. So part of my surprise is his continued turn from somewhat radical social democrat into purely liberal career politician.

In an alternate universe, Sanders is leading an actual revolution and dragging bourgies out of restaurants by their ankles.
