Oh yeah, definitely. They're just one of the best choices to offer to other people in the current capitalist society- being a squatter isn't a lifestyle for everyone, so its good to open up an alternative.

of course there are societies that weren't capitalist, capitalism is a very recent invention that came with intensive agriculture and industrialization.

That wasn't my question. Is every commie boss here only running a co-op? Or are there commie business owners?
retiredaccount wrote (edited )
You were asking us specifically. I'm a contributing member of a cooperative was my answer. How do you expect any of us to speak for everyone?
OKC OP wrote
Then you are not a business owner.

Then I'm afraid you'll get few replies. Most users of this site aren't very rich, and cooperatives by definition often don't have owners.
OKC OP wrote
Being a business owner doesn't make you rich.

Refer to 'cooperatives by definition don't have owners'. Most communists would likely found a cooperative, and thus not own it, discounting them from your question as you discounted me.
OKC OP wrote
You assume too much about your comrades. I didn't ask about co-ops and you're spamming at this point.
retiredaccount wrote
You asked about business owners, and members of coops own it together. If you ask a question about business owners but discount one form of business owner, you won't get answers in the first place.
OKC OP wrote
They're not business owners in any way.
retiredaccount wrote
If they own it together, they're business owners. Or are all shareholders of corporations 'not businessowners', even if majority?
OKC OP wrote (edited )
They would be shareholders, not owners.
Unless they own the majority of shares like the Murdochs, which wouldn't happen with a co-op.

I have one business registered and two others in the works. You quickly learn how BS the entire thing is, especially when it comes to imaginary property.

I've had multiple businesses in my 40 years of existence. First one was a record label when I was 16-18, back when people paid for music. The bands were employees, I had no staff. I paid the bands based on what we all brought in. New bands were only added based on consensus. Most of the bands disbanded after a couple years. So I sold it divvied up the money and was able to buy my mother a cheap house.
At 22 I lived in a tent purposefully in TN. Needed money, borrowed a truck, offered to haul away peoples trash in the area, completely rural area without trash pickup. Three months it was 6 employees to make 3 teams of 2. Also more of a coop model, also before I knew what that even meant. After 2 years most of us wanted to move, the others ready to just move on, we sold it to a nearby municipality and I was able to buy a better home for my disabled mother.
Now I run a farm that's failing and love it. 2 employees. Me and my business partner are the only employees.
So... Fuck anybody who doesn't know what goes into running a business. I work far more hours than a lot of other people to simply not be enslaved by a boss other than those that I choose to work with. But most of all fuck capitalism.
