Most of the screenshots are from a pol thread, one is from Voat.

We still have a couple of users that are playing this game, but they're all very bad at it and get flooded with downvotes whenever they open their mouths.

Some other things I've noticed:

  • They'll pose as trans / queer while saying questionable things.

  • They'll link to rightwing news sites.

  • They'll claim to not know what voat or 8chan/4chan is when called out.

  • They'll have an incredibly poor understanding of radical politics.

  • They'll use a lot of exclamation marks to appear super enthusiastic about everything.

  • They'll say 'comrade' multiple times in every post.

  • They'll use ridiculously transparent usernames like 'InternationalAntifa', 'femaleincel' and 'RADDLEISAWESOME!'

  • They'll act like you'd expect someone who has only ever been exposed to fashy circlejerks to act i.e. not like a real person.

  • They'll try to get people to organize anti-fascist action with them.

If someone seems like a fash troll, they probably are one. Best thing you can do is downvote and ignore. If people don't engage with them, their posts will quickly sink and they'll get bored and go away.

This right here is probably one of the most transparent things they do. They confuse anarchism with anarchy or liberalism.

ziq OP wrote

I guess you mean anarchy as in chaos and death.

3

lambda wrote

Right. I believe a lot of people confuse anarchism with chaos, not decentralization, removal of hierarchies, and the other actual aspects of anarchism.

Where did I mention your username..?

EDIT: Ah, you're that 'internationalantifa' troll but have deleted most of your shit and changed your username.

Lol @ them thinking they are a leet haxor for editing their boot config and source.list but never thought that those up addresses are all tor and VPN up addresses. And this is why everyone should get a vpn

And most of the others were VPNs.

You have a suggestion for a mobile and laptop VPN?

ProtonVPN! It makes a nice companion to ProtonMail, too.

If you are just trying to hide your up PIA is cheap and fast. Plus it works with openvpn and has strong encryption if you care about that too

Complementing the other suggestions:

ProtonVPN has its infrastructure in Switzerland, which is not part of "the fourteen eyes of surveillance" and cannot be forced to hand over the data. Their email service ProtonMail is quite popular for being a more secure email. I would have more reasons to trust this one, but no VPN provider can be 100% safe. Tor is the best bet, albeit slow (gets faster as more users start relaying it).

Private Internet Access (PIA) is known for its support for open source projects, popularity among GNU/Linux users and native application for Ubuntu-based distros. However, since it is based on the US, it is required to hand over any data they have on their users to the government agencies when requested. Your privacy will depend on how much data PIA retains from your activities. It's a matter of trust. But at least you will be safe from IP loggers such as the one mentioned on the screenshots.

EDIT: ProtonMail's frontend is open source! Just in case you're wondering if they care about software freedom. You can check their blog here.

I have my own server that I use as a SOCKS proxy(among other things). It's nice, and if you run a tor node at the same server at the same time it hides your traffic really well.

Heh. Proxychains-ng and a proxy switcher plugin for my browser make it really easy to intersperse this with regular traffic and tor traffic. Anything illegal/sekrit I use whonix for.

I've always figured, keeping my browsing habits completely anonymous isn't always necessary -- after all, I don't care if the NSA knows my mundane browsing habits. The proxy is for fooling my ISP.

(also it's technically shadowsocks -- I would never dream of using an unencrypted proxy!)

Hello, fellow Marxist/Leninist/Post-modernist comrades! I am a united working comrade of the world just like all of you! Please tell me all of your plans to destroy society. While we're at it, maybe we should openly plan some illegal activities and behaviors too! Don't worry: you can trust me. I know all about operationally autonomous comfortably queer lunar socialism. Yet more reason to use Tor Browser by default

Somewhat worrying that they take access logs as gospel for who is and isn't an activist. Not that these folks are particularly worried about SWATing the wrong guy

Can we get 8chan or Voat booted of their DNS or Web providers for not doing anything about shit like this?

lol, /pol/ likes to think they're ebin memers who have such advanced tactics but really their only successful tactics are "get a bunch of idiots to flood an under-moderated board temporarily"

This is why we all need to be examining our opsec. Minimally we should be using tor. The funny thing is, they make broad generalizations about none of us knowing anything about computers across the board because some people clicked on a link that was an IP logger. I would hope by now that most of the users here are minimally on tor and if that is the case they got a lot of bunk IP addresses of exit nodes and that doesn't even seem to have crossed their mind, so I honestly hope that is what happened. If you aren't using tor, maybe let this be a lesson to you... Start now. Aside from that be careful what you click on, but also block javascript. They could be attempting to run some javascript to get your real IP even if you are hidden behind tor. It seems that there are some people on there that actually know some stuff about computers, but lets face it, most white supremacists are just blue collar workers that don't know much about computers themselves and have been vulnerable to similar tactics. It is interesting that they have coopted the term Anon now as I don't think any actual Anons would approve of what they do now, you can send Jeffry Hammond a letter and prison and ask him. It is honestly hard to believe that anybody that is smart enough to actually be a hacker and not some script kiddie doxxxer would side with the fascists, but it isn't outside the realm of possible. Through history there have been many smart people that were also mean spirited. It seems like the brunt of their efforts are some form of brute force internet thuggery though. Make lots of fake accounts and goad people into debate to waste our time. If that is all they've got, that is a sorry excuse for hacking now. I am quite certain there are lots of people doing the same thing to them and that will go back and forth until we are all blue in the face. They get upset because we have zero tolerance for trolling, but trolling is literally the only thing they've got except for some weak-ass ip logger. Stay strong and vigilant.

autonomous_hippopotamus wrote

ip logger

Yeah that's why i've always used tor here (even though i'm sure the NSA could easily figure me out) because you never know who hosts the web pages that get shared around.

Encouraging people to use tor is always a good idea.

Does Raddle have anyone infiltrating 8Chan/Voat or are they the only ones getting IPs and infiltrating us? I get this info must come from somebody infiltrated into them, but my question is how many we've got compared to them. It would only be fair we infiltrate back in equal measure. They can't be the only ones with information about their adversaries, right?

DissidentRage wrote

I know of a few who are infiltrating Voat. There are a couple with a modicum of power there but they're biding their time to act.

Same :)

I'm still waiting to see how long until they notice, lol.

DissidentRage wrote

I'm hoping they don't. Fash are not a very sophisticated bunch anyway. ;D

Well, they'll know if they read this thread, but it won't matter anyway. I really doubt they'll figure it out or their doubt will fester, either way is a win. Pretty much why I thought it was wasn't a risk to mention it.

They think all of us are too triggered to read and speak their shit. Spend enough time in their sphere and it's a lot easier to sound like them. Lots of really similar in-jokes and whatnot. Plus having been on their side at one point certainly helps. To sound like us will be a bit tougher because they really don't understand what we believe. Pretty much how police infiltrators are caught. They are certainly easier than the police are, but they're also a lot newer to this war. We've been spied on and infiltrated by cops for a long time.

Somewhat_marxist_leninist wrote

Thanks. I knew it happened in real life, but I didn't really expect cops to follow left-wingers online as well.

jlwob wrote

You always have to assume your group is being infiltrated if you are a leftists. We have been targeted by the government since the beginning. Infiltration online is even lower effort than in person infiltration (and cheaper).

Also, they are harder to pick out. The FBI generally has more intelligent people than /pol/ (despite what /pol/ wants you to think) and they don't see us as caricatures. So, yes, you must assume that the FBI is watching this site. They are also watching /r/Anarchism and every other leftist board online.

Somewhat_marxist_leninist wrote

Assuming s.w.i.m. has an antifa group, what's the telltale signs it's been infiltrated by a cop?

jlwob wrote

You have to assume you won’t know. Just conduct yourself accordingly. It is why it is important to not discuss illegal activity in explicit terms and to not incriminate yourself.
